Generic host process for win32 services has encountered a problem

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

This error came out of the blue while i was surfing the net around 1 week ago. A click on Don't Send or Send Error Report will result in

a) Computer Hang/Crash
b) Access to Internet Lost

and i have to press the restart button on my Computer itself. Had a few scans on my computer and did the necessary cleaning job but still fail in solving the prob as the same thing kept coming back.

A further click for more information leads to this window

sZAppName : svchost.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.2180
sZModName : netapi32.dll szModVer : 5.1.2600.2976 offset : 00018809

and this

C:\.........\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER999d.dir00\svchost.exe.mdmp
C:\.........\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER999d.dir00\appcompat.txt

Made lots of searches through Google and found out the problem came out recently and this reminds me of the SAME EXACT problem which occurs 2 years ago.

and i came to this local forum LowYat which have the solution for this problem

Security Update for Windows XP (KB921883)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB958644)

Downloaded the patch and updated and have no problem for 4-5 days already.

Hope this post can help those who face the same problem i faced 1 week ago.
