FREEZE For World Earth Day

Last Sunday, part of us peeps in Malaysia created quite a news with KL FREEZE IN UNISON @ Pavilion.

in conjunction with World Earth Day, Hitz.FM requested that another freeze to be organized

so, one week after KL FREEZE, there will be another FREEZE..

its on this coming Sunday!!

Details as below :
Venue : Sunway Pyramid
Time : 8.00pm or 2000 hours
( Click here to synchronize your time so everyone will freeze at the same time)
Date : 20th April 2008 (Sunday)

Do reach the venue by 7.30pm.

Before you leave your house, turn off as many eletrical appliances as you can. Something so simple goes a long way.

Well this freeze is organized in conjunction with World Earth Day, so some ideas have been submitted in the FACEBOOK page as well as on RandomAlphabets

"
Wear something green.

We will be making an impact and creating awareness in conjunction with World Earth Day. So try to Freeze with items or symbols of environmentalism.

Have sunglasses on and a paper fan to symbolise global warming, Freeze with a group of people picking up litter to symbolise the pollution, or with a flourescent light bulb to symbolise saving energy, with an LRT ticket/on a bicycle to symbolise means of transportation which will help reduce CO2 emissions. Or perhaps with a face mask on to symbolise air pollution, or with a crushed hair spray aerosol bottle to symbolise anti-CFC releasing products. Or you can even Freeze with a plant/small tree in a pot with a bandage around the stem/trunk to “save a tree”.

"

Some facts :

The average person globally uses 2255 Watts of power, or a little less than 23 x100 Watt light bulbs (www.wattzon.org). Thats wasting a lot of power. Now imagine that we freeze the daily activities of as many people as possible for only 5 minutes, then we’ll be saving a lot of power.
If you’d like to know more about conserving energy log onto www.wattzon.org
If you do think events like this is STUPID, but you still support WORLD EARTH DAY, then you can just switch of all your power at home and remain in total darkness for 5 minutes.

For those who were saying/complaining that they failed to go to last sunday's freeze and they would want to participate in similiar events, This is It!

I guessed that not much Malaysian internet users logon to FACEBOOK frequently or even have a FACEBOOK account.

so...

Bloggers around, please blog about it and spread the word to support WORLD EARTH DAY as well as support RandomActs.

And again i say-like what i've told my friends, YES you might think that such event is stupid, THINK AGAIN!!! How many chance in a lifetime you get to do STUPID STUFFS with HUNDREDS of PEOPLE!! LOLX

It is great to know that other people from a different country also care about the environment. Good luck on your FREEZE day.
