Why Do You Blog?

Actually....

Have you ever wonder why do you blog?

I have been thinking about this matter for quite some time...

I started blogging in early 2004(no you cant find those entries in those years as i'm blogging on different BLOGs and closed down a few of them due to personal reasons) and that time, blogging for me is like my personal diary. I bet the early bloggers during that time do the same as well. Basicly, our posts were quite boring where we will blog like this : "Today i woke up, then i eat... sleep... etc"

Until recently, i love blogging more than ever and i would say that my posts are not AS BORING as what i blog years ago in previous blogs i own.

Anyway, from time to time...

i will come across some posts where there are stupid bloggers who love posting about
-how to get this amount of uniques per day
-BLOGGER A earning this much BLOGGER B earning that much
-how I REACH BAND A LAST MONTH
-I EARN THIS MUCH LAST MONTH
-I HAVE X amount of UNIQUES yesterday

and the list goes on...

Alright man, i DO UNDERSTAND if you are a new to the blogosphere and you're excited on getting THAT MANY visitors or EARNING THAT MUCH and you just want to share your joy. That is pretty fine with me. Those bloggers can be forgiven.


But, what i do not understand is, there're these stupid bloggers who's not new to the blogosphere anymore and yet still posting about it EVERY NOW AND THEN NON-STOP about how much traffic they get and how much they are earning and tips to hit high traffic and earn more through blogging wtf!!!

if they are KennySia or XiaXue then OK lar, but they aren't!!! SO ITS NOT SO CONVINCING!!

I mean, WHAT THE HECK!!

DON'T YOU HAVE ANY OTHER THINGS BETTER TO BLOG ABOUT??

I don't have any idea on how other people/bloggers think, but to me,

ITS PATHETIC!!

its like this blogger is WANTING ATTENTION!!

and again, i can understand if the blog of yours is A BLOG WHO TEACHES PEOPLE TO MAKE MONEY THROUGH BLOGGING. Then thats okay with me.

BUT NOOOOOOOO, these bloggers are writing such posts stating that THEY ARE NOT BOASTING but yet KEEP POSTING AGAIN AND AGAIN on the SAME FREAKING RELATED TOPIC on their money making blog PERSONAL BLOG!!!!

YAWNNNNNNNN!!!!!

and i repeat myself again where i said it here before.

Blogging is not about earning money and gaining fame

At least, for the 1st generation bloggers from previous decades, ITS NOT!!

Unless you want to become a FULLTIME blogger that is. Then you will need what it takes to hit that!! Not many people can be like Dr Mahathir where his visitor reached 1 Million in just a month.

Maybe you will disagree with me, you will hate me and you will flame me.

as you can see, from the first 3 months, his blog was quite DEAD. Until recently when i started telling him about the events i go, the new friends i meet and etc, he was so "semangat" that he revived his blog and you can see that he have been blogging almost everyday, mostly on his trips and etc. And he have been visiting to various blogs thus making new blogger friends and that makes him even want to blog more because he is making new friends in the blogosphere.

I do hope that he don't stop blogging and update his blog every now and then.

Before this, he don't blog at all. I told him about my blogging life as well and i even brought him to NokiaIAC as my guest.

Eventually, influenced by me, he started blogging and he's currently building his own circle of blogger friends as well as updating his blog quite frequently. Ask him! He's happy with his blogger life now and i even brought him to Artistry Hennessey @Aloha a few nights ago!!

this is another new blog from a different personal friend - Joe

He knows that i blog all these years and recently i invited him to NokiaIAC along with Wilson. He FEEL SO PAISEH going there with me as there're a bunch of us bloggers there and he felt leftout and luckily Wilson is there to accompany him.

Thats not the main point, the main point is he created a blog of his own and he began his journey as a blogger ranting on his blog.

So, what am i trying to say??

From the 3 personal friends that i've quoted above, i'm trying to say that i feel happy that i AM ABLE to influence people/friends INTO blogging. THATS LIKE WHOOAAAA!! for me.

I TELL YOU!!!

The satisfaction i get from that is far better than earning money and gaining fame from blogging!!
YES OF COURSE, WHO WOULDN'T LOVE MONEY AND FAME?? but thats a totally different thing for me, i won't blog SO MUCH on money la, traffic la, unique visitors la and etc. I'll just blog about stuffs around me and if MONEY and FAME do come then thats good la.

You don't have to blog and purposely aim for them both.

and yea..

There's one more thing i want to say.

Just recently, I met this bunch of wonderful bloggers and we became close and developed into a group of close friends where we shared many stuffs together, we meet up from time to time and i am really happy having them...

YES!!!

Thats the amount of chats we have between us in GMAIL.

=)

All the influence i have on my friends to blog, the new friends i met from time to time....


They are all PRICELESS compare to money, unique visitors, and traffics. All these have been a joy to me and i really appreciate it VERY MUCH!!

All these are the main factors for me to blog on...
