College Life & Graduation Day.

*this is a long post. =)

Waking up 2 hours before class starts taking 2 buses before i reach college to attend a lecture/tutorial where most of the times i'll fall asleep in class. There are times where i would overslept in bus and ended up in the middle of KL.

Walking under the hot sun or under the rain and waiting for public transport to get home or college.

It was all tiring, but fun. I could see more things around and ponder upon more stuffs back then.

I entered Tunku Abdul Rahman college in the year 2004. Just after my National Service i started my college life enrolling myself in one of the computer science course.

Few friends made, though not many but we were one heck of a group. I could remember being a good student staying back in college during breaks going to the library or study room during my very first semester.

That was the only semester i was good. xD In the next few semester through out my Diploma course, i started skipping classes going out during breaks, to various YumCha & CC sessions.

YumCha - Going to a nearby drinking place and tok cok.
CC - Going to a Cyber Cafe playing computer games.

It was just the beginning of the DOTA rampage era and that was when i started picking up DOTA. Playing at least 10 games per day every single day with fellow coursemates be it in Cyber Cafes or on Blueserver, a local server that provides a platform for online internet users to play Dota.

The Diploma days was extremely enjoying for me. Me and my coursemates, we will travel all the way to a destination and just hang out there for no reason. Out of the blue.

The above picture was taken when we were having Bak Kut Teh in Johor Bahru. We bunked in one of the coursemate's house and it wasn't even during the semester break.

It was last minute and freaking random. The JB guy, KokHao plan to skip class on Thursday & Friday and head back to his hometown earlier. Then, with no specific reason, a few of us started a MSN chatroom.

Within 20 minutes, we decided to follow him all the way to JB just for the heck of it. Not 1 but 3 cars if i'm not mistaken with more than 10 of us.

What did we do in JB? Eat normal food, Sleep, and go to Cyber Cafe. As if there ain't any of those back in KL. Haha.

Making trips to Seremban to another coursemate's house was fun as well. Same thing. Random, pretty last minute and just for the heck of it.

the most crazy trip we had was going all the way to Kuantan to attend one of our friend's funeral.

It was in the midst of our exam. Some Maths subject i think and we, 3 cars headed all the way to Kuantan in the afternoon after an exam in the morning to attend the funeral service.

Came back in the night the next day where we sat for the next exam paper the day after.

Going to Kajang for its Satay, heading to the cinemas multiple times, Sang from our heart in various SingK sessions looking at the girls who passes by out of the room. That was really some DIPLOMA days for me.

Oh and we do stupid stuffs such as the picture above. Having the same nickname on MSN or replying each other on MSN status.

The bunch of people which includes PengYee, HoongWai, ChinYen, KokHao, BoonPean, YewJoe and etc. You guys rawks!!

However, like what people normally say, time flies and it was just in a blink of an eye i completed my Diploma Course in May 2006. Thank God!

With no certain direction of what to do, i stopped studying for one whole year...

Till 2007... i enrolled myself again, this time in an Advance Diploma Cum Degree course. Information Systems Engineering that is.

My Advance Dip Days were pretty NOT happening. Not like my diploma days as i've said above. Nevertheless, new friends were made with new cliques and such. Though stopped 1 whole year, i manage to get myself back into study mode and attended most of the tutorials.

Yah tutorials but not lectures. Typical Tarc Students if you want to know where we will ask our friends to take attendance for us during lectures.

Falling asleep in class is still what i did most of the times during my adv dip days. Hoped i didn't snore too loud ha.

Anyways, i had my 6 months of industrial training where the company i was in had 2 times of break in & theft case. Must be some "black shop" i assume. Don't wanna further talk about that crappy period.

Unlike my Diploma Days where we will have some last minute random trips to other places, we still have our share of YumCha & Karaoke sessions.

The rest of the story, is just some normal story about a student doing his course. Going to class, Skipping class, Going to exams, Failing and passing the papers and such.

Not much happenings in my college days then as it was 2008. The year i became active stepping my foot into the Malaysian Blogoshpere knowing and mixing more people out of my college.

and FINALLY, i completed my course and it was the graduation day of my Bachelor Degree just last Saturday.

I couldn't be more happier that day. Having mixed feelings all over, i woke up extremely early and headed all the way to Subang to pick the GF up.

My brain was blank the whole journey to Subang.

Good thing that the speeches during the ceremony were pretty short.

One minute, I wasn't even ready, the next minute, i'm already heading up stage to shake hands and get my scroll getting my picture taken by the official photographer.

Headed out to take all the graduation pictures. Pictures that i will treasure. =)

Friends since Diploma Days, ChinYen, HoongWai, YewJoe, Me.

Friends made during Adv Dip days, Eric, King, Swee, Me.

Some random group picture.

and the MOMENT.

For those who've wished me in a previous blog post, through smses, through msn, through facebook. Thank You!

and to Nigel, Kelli, Yatz & David, thanks for coming all the way to attend my graduation. =)

I owe her alot. *Hugs* =)

and i owe them more!! HA!!

and so...

Spending time studying in study room...

Doing stupid stuffs in classes...

Tunku Abdul Rahman College...

and many many more...

I'll be missing those days. ByeBye to that very phase of my life as i'm going to step into the next phase in my life.

and at the end of the post, i just want to tell those whom i've knew during my college days, NICE KNOWING YOU, and i WISH YOU ALL THE BEST IN LIFE!

Wish me all the best too!! xD

Over.

Yesterday was officially the last day of exam, taking my 8th and 9th paper was like forever. I was like sitting in the exam hall waiting for time to pass and it's like taking forever where i felt really restless, sitting there playing with the pen with my brain blank not knowing how to answer this and that. I really feel like tying the string and raising my hands and leaving the scene.

But because it's the LAST day of exam, i opt to stay back and go through that long period. Yes Last. After this it's all over, it's my last semester already and i won't be furthering my studies anyhow anymore already.

When the clock ticks and reached 4.00PM where everyone started attempting the last sentence with the officers starting to collect our papers, i was having this mix feeling all around. Hard to describe but i'm very sure one of it was relief.

I had my after exams plan of course, though i've not sleep the previous night acting like a good hardworking student studying for exams in the middle of the nights, i went on with my plans.

It was raining when i was buying bus ticket for my girl at Pekeliling and i got home around 6PM++ to get ready to head to SOULed OUT for their special Chap Goh Mei event. YES as you see its RM60 for adult and NO i didn't pay HAHA thanks to the people at SOULed OUT. I was there with Sidney & Sunny from BBO, Kelvin, Sue, Andrew and Ken.

It was an awesome session with lotsa food, firecrackers, fireworks and of course the lion dance displayed and yea, there was some performance by a group of Chinese erm acrobatic group? Ah i don't know what do they call them. Lolx.

Of course, i'll blog more about the session when i get my hands on more pictures.

The later night was spent in a Karaoke session with some of my kickass coursemates. These people are unlike me who're all lazy, they are those type of students who study alot and know what are they studying. Clever dudes.

Eric, Swee, ThiamChoon, Kin Han, Chun Seng, Clement.

Sorry to disappoint you if you're looking forward to see some girls la. All guys and we gay gay in green box.

Sungai Wang. =D

So yea, it's all over. No more lectures and tutorials at TARC and of course i hope no more exams again. Hope that i can pass all the 9 papers i sat. =(

Now, after exams, i'm not exactly free, still have to complete my Final Year Project. FYP Yes.

Gawd...

Comp down, Car down, Exam down, Awesome!

COMP DOWN

One day just before i have my first exam paper, Thursday.

It was a nice morning where i came out from my room and realize that the computer was not on(i remembered i left it on the previous night), and so i had my finger pressing the on button on the CPU and i was surfing the net in no time.

About an hour after that, the whole computer shut down by itself and i thought that it was like nothing, so i bend down a bit to on my comp again. *pop* i heard a sound followed by the smell of something burnt...

Yes la there goes my computer i tell you.... Habis..... (well actually, its just around the time already... my comp have been loyal to me for 4 whole years..)

I spent my whole day studying + sleepwaking then, No computer, No internet, Just revision....

Sound pretty nice huh? well i spent most of the time sleepwaking..... sleeping and waking up in a repeating matter...

CAR DOWN

Brought my CPU over to a friend's house near Tarc in the night and everything went well... Ask a few questions related to the exam that is going on the next day... and when i was fetching this friend back home...

I was going to stop in front of a traffic light on Jalan Genting Klang, one step on the clutch and I SWEAR I WASN'T GOING ROUGH ON THE PEDAL and all i knew was the clutch pedal never came up again. Yes, one step on the pedal and it never came up indicating that i can never continue driving that night already because i can't freaking change my gear with the clutch sleeping soundly in such a way.... O.O

Toll Truck arrived, reached home around 3am++ gah....

EXAM DOWN

I don't really know how to describe how was my first day of exam. Let me just share with you all what my friend said.

My friend : After approx one hour in the exam, i look around and was shocked to find out that EVERYONE practically stopped writing having problem answering the questions...

It was somewhat a rare scene because normally in such condition, after 1 hour, you'll see MORE people writing MORE FASTER because there's 1 more hour left!!

AWESOME?

Yea, these few days have been really awesome, absolutely uber awesome!!

Damage done with me coming online at home successfully at this very moment with my computer having a new Motherboard, Processor and Harddisk.

Goodbye Intel Hello AMD.

Midnight Random Yum Cha Session

It was a shitty day with lots of shitty stuffs and i even skipped dinner because of that and when it got worst in the middle of the night, i was invited to a chatroom all of a sudden. =D

by my fellow college mates. One girl all guys in the chatroom. They are a bunch of people who are funny in their way at times and these are the ones who is in the same tutorial group as i am for the past few semester. Yesh i'm in a different tutorial group currently thanks to the idiotic people in TARC who loves doing stupid things esp in my very last semester and i was changed to a different group along with other people because of our names.

Last time they compile the name lists according to the first name in your IC and mine is JOSHUA so start with J and now they compile the name lists according to the sur name and mine is ONG so start with O. That's why. Zzz.

Anyway, a random YumCha session was called and a few of us came out.

Went to this "romantic" mamak place in Jalan Ipoh, Uma Rani and we had a good time together.

Though not in the same tutorial group anymore, i still enjoy their company.

Kind of made me feel better after what happened.

=)

End of internship and Back to TARC

Its been 2 weeks since i officially completed my internship. To be exact my industrial training ended on the last day of September 2008. I would say that it's an interesting 6 months journey.

Even before i get into the company, i directed and acted in a drama myself, thanks to the idiot from my college. I started my industrial training very successfully with not ONE but TWO theft incident which happens to involve some of my friend's laptop. =)

Oh and you know, it just rocks that the nearest eating place is under a freaking flyover where the environment is so "clean"..... furthermore there're like inifinity cars going on top of you when you're having your meal practically below the cars.....

and so, we had a few food hunting journeys and yes we found some other place within walking distance, but you have to walk for like 10 minutes under the hot sun and pass by some roads that have high traffic...

and so, from time to time, we did this above....

Skipping those parts, we celebrated a few birthdays

Know what? I'm just gonna stop the story here and then move on...

There're lots of idiotic stuffs being done by mainly ONE person in the company and there're many funny and interesting experience as well, there're negative comments but there're positive ones as well. Positive ones are mainly because i have a bunch of fun and playful colleagues (same batch of college mates who went in for intern).

I'm not going to reveal the company name or the person's name as I already feel like i'm some annoying ranting machine already hahaha. So that's the story of my industrial training.

Back to College.

Studies resume officially since last Monday, but being the typical lazy student, the first week which doesn't include tutorials and practicals leaving alone lectures going on is a ponteng week for most Tarcians. Yes i skipped a number of lectures and stayed at home but on the other hand i was doing one of my seminar research study for the past few days.

A topic which might seem easy for some people out there, my study was on Content Management System and Weblog/Blog as CMS. Found some really interesting facts such as :

In 1999 the number of blogs was estimated at under 50, at the end of 2000, estimates ranged into the thousands (TheNewYorker,13 November, 2000). Less than 3 years later, such estimates range from 2.4 million to 4.1 million (Henning, 2003).

In 2004, There are over a million bloggers, posting approximately 275,000 new items daily(Drezner, 2004, p4).

In 2005, A blogger claimed that he is earning a 6 figure income-note in USD from Google Adsense.
http://www.problogger.net/archives/2005/09/01/im-a-six-figure-blogger/

and part of my job is to link all these facts with how a Content Management System work. CMS such as Wordpress, Movable Type, Blogger, Xanga and etc.

Did i get you bored? Sounds interesting? Haha well, it is an interesting topic but i believe the outcome of my whole 20++ pages research isn't that impressive. I just know it don't ask me why. HAHA.

Going back to college makes me feel weird after i've stopped for 6 whole months, some stuffs remain the same, some stuffs have changed, stuffs as small as there's no more porridge in canteen 1 in the morning and stuffs as big as shown in the picture above.

My first lab session(tutorial) in this semester was an interesting one. Everyone know that TARC is so rich and this is one of the prove that shows so, look at the monitor screen above. They actually get many many brand new facilities for the students, well its a good thing.

Why i say its an interesting session is because so...

Tutor : So, you all got your tutorial questions right?
My Class students : *silent*
Tutor : Alright you all copy down the questions first.....
Some of my Class students : *whispering around that how come this tutor dont know how to share the file over the network arh...*
Tutor : So, last week the lecturer teach till which part already?
My Class students : *silent*
Tutor : Erm did you all attend the lecture??
Some of my Class students : Yes but...
Tutor : Teach till where?? Do you all have the lecture notes with you all?
My Class students : nooo...
Tutor : *find the lecture documents on his pendrive* Eh How to share the file over the network ah?
Some of my Class students : AHHH SEE LA, HE REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO SHARE FILES WAN!!!

O.O

Its Distributed Computer System Class

That's all bah on leaving internship and going back to classes....

On a totally unrelated matter, i've watched Heroes S304 and Prison Break s407 and i find the storyline of Heroes quite interesting where now the Good ones became Bad ones & the Bad ones are becoming Good Ones. Then in Prison Break, the storyline though not as interesting as Season1, but i still find it pretty entertaining. Hah.

Oh and yea, Yesterday, i played basketball again after stop playing for 6 whole months. I find myself in an extremely tired state just after 2 games and that's it, i went back as it's raining already.

Nemind la, i'm a noob basketball player all these while. =D

*i wonder how many people are going to read this whole long entry o.O
