End of internship and Back to TARC

Its been 2 weeks since i officially completed my internship. To be exact my industrial training ended on the last day of September 2008. I would say that it's an interesting 6 months journey.

Even before i get into the company, i directed and acted in a drama myself, thanks to the idiot from my college. I started my industrial training very successfully with not ONE but TWO theft incident which happens to involve some of my friend's laptop. =)

Oh and you know, it just rocks that the nearest eating place is under a freaking flyover where the environment is so "clean"..... furthermore there're like inifinity cars going on top of you when you're having your meal practically below the cars.....

and so, we had a few food hunting journeys and yes we found some other place within walking distance, but you have to walk for like 10 minutes under the hot sun and pass by some roads that have high traffic...

and so, from time to time, we did this above....

Skipping those parts, we celebrated a few birthdays

Know what? I'm just gonna stop the story here and then move on...

There're lots of idiotic stuffs being done by mainly ONE person in the company and there're many funny and interesting experience as well, there're negative comments but there're positive ones as well. Positive ones are mainly because i have a bunch of fun and playful colleagues (same batch of college mates who went in for intern).

I'm not going to reveal the company name or the person's name as I already feel like i'm some annoying ranting machine already hahaha. So that's the story of my industrial training.

Back to College.

Studies resume officially since last Monday, but being the typical lazy student, the first week which doesn't include tutorials and practicals leaving alone lectures going on is a ponteng week for most Tarcians. Yes i skipped a number of lectures and stayed at home but on the other hand i was doing one of my seminar research study for the past few days.

A topic which might seem easy for some people out there, my study was on Content Management System and Weblog/Blog as CMS. Found some really interesting facts such as :

In 1999 the number of blogs was estimated at under 50, at the end of 2000, estimates ranged into the thousands (TheNewYorker,13 November, 2000). Less than 3 years later, such estimates range from 2.4 million to 4.1 million (Henning, 2003).

In 2004, There are over a million bloggers, posting approximately 275,000 new items daily(Drezner, 2004, p4).

In 2005, A blogger claimed that he is earning a 6 figure income-note in USD from Google Adsense.
http://www.problogger.net/archives/2005/09/01/im-a-six-figure-blogger/

and part of my job is to link all these facts with how a Content Management System work. CMS such as Wordpress, Movable Type, Blogger, Xanga and etc.

Did i get you bored? Sounds interesting? Haha well, it is an interesting topic but i believe the outcome of my whole 20++ pages research isn't that impressive. I just know it don't ask me why. HAHA.

Going back to college makes me feel weird after i've stopped for 6 whole months, some stuffs remain the same, some stuffs have changed, stuffs as small as there's no more porridge in canteen 1 in the morning and stuffs as big as shown in the picture above.

My first lab session(tutorial) in this semester was an interesting one. Everyone know that TARC is so rich and this is one of the prove that shows so, look at the monitor screen above. They actually get many many brand new facilities for the students, well its a good thing.

Why i say its an interesting session is because so...

Tutor : So, you all got your tutorial questions right?
My Class students : *silent*
Tutor : Alright you all copy down the questions first.....
Some of my Class students : *whispering around that how come this tutor dont know how to share the file over the network arh...*
Tutor : So, last week the lecturer teach till which part already?
My Class students : *silent*
Tutor : Erm did you all attend the lecture??
Some of my Class students : Yes but...
Tutor : Teach till where?? Do you all have the lecture notes with you all?
My Class students : nooo...
Tutor : *find the lecture documents on his pendrive* Eh How to share the file over the network ah?
Some of my Class students : AHHH SEE LA, HE REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO SHARE FILES WAN!!!

O.O

Its Distributed Computer System Class

That's all bah on leaving internship and going back to classes....

On a totally unrelated matter, i've watched Heroes S304 and Prison Break s407 and i find the storyline of Heroes quite interesting where now the Good ones became Bad ones & the Bad ones are becoming Good Ones. Then in Prison Break, the storyline though not as interesting as Season1, but i still find it pretty entertaining. Hah.

Oh and yea, Yesterday, i played basketball again after stop playing for 6 whole months. I find myself in an extremely tired state just after 2 games and that's it, i went back as it's raining already.

Nemind la, i'm a noob basketball player all these while. =D

*i wonder how many people are going to read this whole long entry o.O

no point

I came in to work this morning finding out something really stupid. This stupid act have been around for quite a few weeks and i find it pretty pointless.

Some people just prefer to think the wrong way, walk the wrong path when they have the chance to think more positively and take a better road resulting in living their lives miserably being suspicious towards the people and stuffs around.

These people, really no point. What they think, What they do, No Sense.

There are more to elaborate if i want to but then again, nvm bah.

No point doing so. I'll just end up being the same person as i've mention above making my life miserable. Lolx. As funny as it seems, i do pity these people. They really do need to change. Like what someone told me years ago : "Go Get A Life!!~" i'll say the same.

GO GET A LIFE!!~

*and yes i'm pointing finger at not1, not2 but several people, if you "terasa" after reading my post then TOO BAD. Don't come up to me asking me if i'm pointing at you, if you "terasa", go think why you "terasa".

Industrial Training - Food Hunting Journey

YES!!! 1 Month Down, 5 more Months TO GO!!!!

HAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!!

3rd WEEK

Alright, this post is about our food hunting journey....

After having lunch under the flyover for quite some time... we became quite fed up with the food over there and one nice day, one of us suggested that we ordered McD delivery.

browsing the internet to decide on what to order.

we didn't wait too long till the delivery arrive

checking on the amount of meals we ordered

i think there are more than 10 meals here hahahaha =)

i introduced the camwhore culture to my colleagues/collegemates WTF!

that was what happened randomly and up till now we've already ordered McD a couple of times.

On the other hand, we found this mix rice(zap fan) stall accidentally... we had to walk quite a distance + we're under the hot sun... O.O

originally we planned to have Chicken Rice for lunch... There are 2 Chicken Rice stalls near the Mix Rice stall.

Let me show u the way to the Mix Rice stall.

the way there...

it wasn't that far actually, but we were under the hot sun, so it was quite TIRING as we're walking there.

I was quite delighted upon finding this "NEW" place to eat till..

my friend mentioned to me that he actually saw the aunty pulling a cockroach out from the curry chicken that i took.... o.O

since then we didn't go back to that stall anymore, we still frequent the Chicken Rice Stall though.

4th Week

Remember that i said my company "kena" broke in here?

NEW COMPUTERS HAVE JUST ARRIVE!!!

=)

*we're actually adapting slowly to the malay food already...

I am in the BEST Industrial Training Company!!

i'm sorry if any part of this post make u bored =)

FIRST WEEK

this is how i get to my Industrial Training company everyday morning(before this i'll take a bus to Titiwangsa station and take StarLRT train to Chan Sow Lin station)

my company is in this specific block of building and as you can see there're many advertisement posters/papers etc around. There're many empty office place for rent here(there're more blocks of building in this area) and my company is among the few companies operating in this area(they just shifted from WangsaMaju..........).

Our working time is 9am-6pm.

We(Me and a few course-mates that is going to this company) arrived early in the morning to our company and found out something very interesting.

#1. THERE'LL BE NO WATER ON OUR FIRST DAY OF OUR INDUSTRIAL TRAINING!!

yes, you read it... no water to wash hands, wash face, go toilet etc and there's no Cafe/Restaurant or anyplace with a toilet nearby as the business area only have a handful of operating businesses running.

*luckily we have water on the 2nd Day, if not i have no idea on how to survive..

there were another bunch of interns using the computers outside and nobody tell us to bring our own laptops so we ended up reading books on Programming in the meeting room(since the other interns occupied the place outside). 8 whole hours reading books. I eventually snoozed off.. ZZZzzz

hold on..... there's another interesting part here..

#2. We have a Boss with 2 permanent workers and 20+ Interns including interns from my batch
(10+ interns were from a previous batch and 10+ interns were in as the same batch as me)

Soon, its 12pm and we would have our first lunch as Interns in this company, we were somehow excited and asked around of places to eat. What we found out was the nice place to eat is not in walking distance(have to drive or take train - we don't have enough cars among us, taking the train meaning we will waste more money and time).

So, the only place to eat within walking distance is....

HERE!!!

a place directly across our company, Under a FLYOVER!!!

=_=

swt

ITS SO LAME I TELL YOU!! There're like 20++ (i think) stalls and they all serve HALAL foods!!! YES ALL THE STALLS ARE MALAY STALLS!!!

THEY EVEN HAVE A FREAKING STAGE THERE!!!! SWEAT....

you can imagine how we looked like knowing about that FACT that we're going to live with for
6 WHOLE FREAKING MONTHS!!!

one by one TULAN face...

i tell you,

the food there SUCKS big time + the drain there is like full of brownish "liquid" which allows mosquito to lurk there + we're under a flyover so there're cars on top of us meaning that the air around will be dusty/dirty all the time + we can smell some weird smell from time to time.

O.O

#3. The only place to eat within walking distance is UNDER A FLYOVER with 20++ MALAY STALLS and the environment is really...... i'm speechless....

One of my coursemate, Chris cant eat on and left his food just like that...

This is the only edible thing food for me

No i'm not being choosy/picky, I've been to National Service and i'm in the 1st Batch and i'm sure many of you heard about how sucky the food was in NS, those food in NS, i can still accept it,

but THIS,

this is really too much....

OH YEA

#4. DID i mention that my boss said that we have to work on every 2nd and 4th Saturdays in every month??
(he said that its half day on Saturdays and we found out that the half day he meant was 9am-5pm)

O.O

that was quite a week for us...

SECOND WEEK

last Monday i posted this post saying that i was at home while interns are in their respectives companies, read on to find out why...

We went "yamcha" that morning...

We started our 2nd week reaching our company only to found out that our office got broke in(kena masuk pencuri/thief) over the weekend, that's why i mentioned in my previous post that things around is getting more and more interesting.

We only get to go home after the Police came over to investigate about the case, that was why i can reached home around noon time on that day.

#5. My office got broke in(kena masuk pencuri/thief) just in my 2nd week of Industrial Training.

It appears that those people got away with the computers in our office only, other than that, other stuffs are still in good condition.

However, we still have to helped out and clean the place. Till now we still don't have new computers so the other batch of interns don't need to come to office and they were asked to do their work at home. O.O

Not my batch, most interns in my batch have laptops so we still go to work everyday.

This picture above was taken in KimGary (Jusco Taman Maluri). That day some of us are sitting for exams in TARC so the 7 of us who went to work squeezed in a car(if more than 7 person then we cant go already as we have one car only) and had a "slightly better" meal that day.
*thanks to Nigel who took this picture, yes he joined me for lunch and his company is quite near to mine (within driving distance)
"
Well, we do have a good boss i would say, comparing mine and my friend's boss in other companies and i would also say that the working environment in my company is quite good as well. Just that the things around us really made me speechless. Really speechless...
"

Thats all for now, will share more about my industrial training if there're more "interesting stuffs"

For your info :
- i went in the company as a Programmer intern
- so far we(my batch of interns) have not being assign to any project/work yet, we were just given some exercise MAINLY on Php and MySQL.
- This week (starting 05May2008) is just my 3rd week of Industrial Training.
